Rising Phoenix-like from the ashes of There She Goes Again, new Melbourne three-piece indie revolutionary rock band Red Brigades are set to make their mark without resorting to violence.
Unlike their namesakes, the Italian revolutionary group Brigate Rosse (translates as Red Brigades) who were fond of kidnapping Italian politicians at gunpoint in the 70’s, Red Brigades weapons of choice are guitar, bass and drums. Band founders Camillo and bassist Jess Crema have long been influenced by the music of the 70’s and count amongst their influences artists Velvet Underground, Iggy and The Stooges and Patti Smith, all iconic 70’s music revolutionaries in their own right. Catch Red Brigade at The Tote on Friday 5 December with Kill City, Cry Mercy and Party With Strangers. Doors at 8.30pm.
