Civil Society is proud to announce the first Australian tour of Phillies finest, Santogold. Since exploding across the blogsphere in late 2007 with leaked unmastered tracks and following the success of her self-titled debut album Australian audiences have been aching to see her play. Her sound is immediately captivating and is being dubbed “the future of pop music”.

Born Santi White and adopting the pseudonym Santogold she has taken the world by storm with her diverse musical styles with critics drawing comparisons from all over the musical cannon. She combines a voice that rivals M.I.A and Karen O with the sounds of New Wave, Ska, Dub, Grime, Baltimore Club and Hip-hop in a manner that’s all of her own - prompting Rolling Stone to declare that Santogold is “starting her own damn movement”.

Erupting in the scene with the singles Creator and LES Artistes, Santogold has backed them up with one of the most diverse and stunning albums of 2008 and unsurprisingly heads have been turning. With this only her first album Santogold has already collaborated with underground superstars Diplo and Switch plus Freq Nasty, Radio Clit, M.I.A., Dr Israel and Spank Rock.

Beyond all the hype and the internet buzz Santogold has been delivering astonishing live shows with her full 7-piece band. Santogold is effortlessly establishing a reputation for herself as a vivacious front woman. Strutting her way across stages around the world – dancers in tow – and astounding crowds at festivals like Coachella, Roskilde, Summer Sonic and Glastonbury. Santogold has proved with her blitzing live show that she can live up in every part to her stunning self-titled debut.
