Having taken a break from touring since last year’s successful thirty date ‘Street Corner Soul’ Tour and the summer festival run, Kid Confucius are about to explode back onto the live touring circuit, boasting a brand new sound, a new guitarist and a brand new collection of songs!

While all might have seemed quiet of late in the Kid Confucius camp, nothing could be further from the truth. With the recent departure of Kid Confucius’ longtime guitarist, Ray Wassef (Ray is focusing his attention on his solo project, The Ray Mann Three), Kid Confucius have welcomed 19-year old James Manson into the fold. James’ brings a distinctive sound and attitude in his guitar playing and performance that has played a big role in the band’s new direction.

Kid Confucius have spent the better part of 2008 writing, thrashing out, and recording the follow up album to 2007’s Award winning ‘Stripes’. Now in the last stages of recording, The Band are eager to hit the road for their first tour of the year - a string of nine, intimate shows aimed at introducing their new sound to both loyal fans and newcomers alike.

What can fans expect? While keeping their renowned sound of old school soul, Kid Confucius will move away from their modern hip hop set and delve further into the gritty world of rock n roll to create a fusion, best described as ‘Dirty Garage Soul’.

The past few years have earned Kid Confucius a well deserved reputation as one of this country’s hottest and hardest working touring acts and 2008 is set to be no different. Armed with their infamous, never ending supply of infectious, on stage energy check out Kid Confucius and their new sound at a venue near you!
