In the case of Kid Confucius performing a live show, since their ‘Street Corner Soul’ tour last year, their reputation precedes them. Known for their seemingly endless infectious on stage energy, the eight piece Sydney Band are now about to kick that live performance up a notch by taking their brand new album ‘The Let Go’ to venues around the East Coast of Australia throughout December.
The Let Go is garnering significant attention and avid expectations for the live show from Fans, Radio and Press alike, ‘Darling, I Need Ya’ was the iTunes single of the week (SOW)last week with over 12,000 downloads. National broadcaster, triple j is continuing to play ‘Good Luck’ which was added to the playlist during August with tracks from the new album building into programming across the day as well as on ‘Home & Hosed’. PBS Radio in Melbourne will feature ‘The Let Go’ as the Breakfast programme’s album of the week from Monday 3 November and a preview album review in triple j’s magazine, JMAG has predicted how the album will translate into a live performance;
“Having listened to the album twice I was already running around the house singing ‘Catch the Water | Water from the sky...|Put it in a cup and don’t let your tongue get dry’ from Big Black Cloud, a song with a killer breakdown in the middle that I reckon would go off live” – Sarah Howells, (triple j’s Roots n All presenter) JMAG October edition
Don’t miss the new sound of Kid Confucius, LIVE in Garage Soul mode of ‘The Let Go’: guitars up front, drums roomy and dirty, horns distorted with vocals unbridled and overdriven at a venue near you.
