Yves Klein Blue
» Yves Klein Blue & The Holidays announce national tour - August 20, 2008
Brisbane attention seekers, Yves Klein Blue have a busy few months on the horizon, jumping in their mum’s van and hitting the road for some heavy touring.
First up is a brief East Coast run with Canada’s Tokyo Police Club, stopping off along the way at Splendour in the Grass Festival. Next, they get up, close and personal with the UK’s Fratellies for dates in Sydney and Melbourne, before returning to Brisbane for that Vegas institution, the Ekka.
Yves Klein Blue are party boys, so they’re helping Oxford Art Factory celebrate their first birthday with a bash. Being artistic types, with their moniker derived from the patented colour of blue dubbed by French artist Yves Klein they are performing at the Picasso exhibition at GOMA in Brisbane.
Finally, they’ll be camping amongst the lush green hills of Newington Armory with the like of Black Francis, Conor Oberst, Ladytron, Joan As Police Woman, The Panics, and many more at the Great Escape festival on October 4 & 5.
Yves Klein Blue have been fast gathering fans with their EP. With much interest from well-known producers both here and abroad, the band will be heading into the studio in November to record their much anticipated debut long player.
Yves Klein Blue ‘Draw Attention To Themselves’ is out now through Dew Process/UMA.
