Since the first time the Falls festival visited our shores in 2003, it has opened the flood gates for major acts to tour our shores. The highlight for many in 2004, Butterfingers, has finally made it back to Tasmania on the back of their current tour for the hit single ‘Fig Jam’.

Support act The Muddy Turfs came on around 9:45, due to a mix up with management, The Turfs had to cut short their performance, but it didn’t really matter - Downie, Angus and their troops turned it on for the audience anyway. The crowd’s response wasn’t the greatest, they just didn’t know how to take Mark. One of the many highlights of his set was when one of the members of the audience picked Mark off the stage and carried him around the pit while he continued to finish the song.

After a short break, the Valley’s finest graced the stage and bought down the house with their opener entitled ‘Anthem’. Taking a big gamble they then went straight into their huge hit ‘Yo Mama’ which had the crowd singing along and cheering. The set focused more on their newer material from their debut album ‘Breakfast @ Fatboys’.

They pulled no stops and played hit after hit, everyone’s favorites were there, ‘Girl From Gore’, ‘Mandarines’, ‘Is It Just Me?’ and ‘Every time’, which had the whole chanting ‘Butterfingers Mother F**ker!!’. They rounded out their set with ‘Hook Up’ and the new people's favorite and huge hit ‘Fig Jam’.

The 'fingers have to be one of the tightest acts doing the touring circuit at the moment. The audience was a little disappointed as there was no encore, but the show they got was well worth the money.
