Just the third album for Australian Hip Hop trailblazers, Bliss n Eso and again they show the strength of the Aussie Hip Hop scene. Debuting in the ARIA Top 10 in it’s first week, shows the current wide appeal of Australian Hip Hop acts.
Flying Colours features the clear lyrics and vibrant beats, clearly packed with a distinct subject matter that lends itself to the creation of a strong album from start to finish. Opening track Woodstock 2008 is a fast paced track but gets you pumped for the sounds of MC’s Bliss and Eso, through to the hilarious interlude of $5 Steak, Bliss and Eso have a produced a strong album with many highlights.
Bullet and a Target is an amazing track featuring a 20 piece African Zulu Choir (The Zulu Connections Choir). Showcasing the amazing voices of Bliss and Eso, backed by the blissful sounds of the Zulu choir. The catchy Happy in my Hoody is an instant winner and will be a snare for mainstream listeners. Featuring Hyjack and Phrase, it’s a likeable beat and tune that has you singing along in no time.
Recorded at Sing Sing studios in Melbourne, the new album demonstrates Bliss N Eso’s artistic growth and evolving maturity both through lyrics and production in what is ultimately their best and most dynamic work to date.
Bliss n Eso have done it again with Flying Colours proving that Australian Hip Hop has really found it’s mark and it’s place amongst the Australian music scene.
