The Walkmen and the Archie Bronson Outfit will make for a formidable tag-team when they join forces in February to take on the Laneway & Perth Arts Festivals and a series of side-shows.
The Walkmen, with the blend of edgy post-punk and drunken bar balladry will be the perfect compliment to the Archie Bronson Outfit whose own take on post-punk, mixed with a large dose of garage-blues is as lethal as it is infectious. The most recent local release for The Walkmen is the album A Hundred Miles Off (Etch & Sketch/Inertia) although Booze, Blues & Bar rooms Balladry might be a more apt title for an album that reeks of strong whiskey and cigarette smoke.
