Tin Alley - Polar Bear (Single)
» Tin Alley QLD/NSW tour leg cancelled - February 25, 2008
Comprised of three tracks, this new offering from Melbourne based Tin Alley does tasteful, if a little bland, really well. Triple M will/should be all over this un-distracting, generic stuff any day now.
Leading off with official single Polar Bear, the tone is set for the whole disc with catchy pop/rock guitar riffs and fair production ideas; a tight rhythm driven rock sound.
Extra tracks Scour the World and In A Knot don’t necessarily add anything but to compliment the opener and assist in giving the listener a fair idea of exactly what this band would sound like live. Think (a less interesting, less political) Midnight Oil and throw in a bit of current local live scene (British India spring to mind) and you’ve got a pretty accurate outcome.
So, fans of a classic kinda rock sound, it’s probably right up your alley (no pun intended, haw-haw). It’s an unchallenging listen and you’ll probably be able to sing along by the second verse of each tune. No surprises, that’s all I’m saying.
