Ross Royce - Life Worth Living (Album)
The much anticipated debut album Life Worth Living by New Zealand rock artist Ross Royce has just been released. Ross Royce puts it perfectly in his short, spoken word opening to Mrs Vain, the third track off his album - "this is rock & roll".
Singer/Songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Ross Royce debuted on the global scene in 2006 with his E.P Get it Together. He played drums, guitar, keyboards, and did most of the vocals on a number of the songs.
Featuring 11 rocking tracks from the rock opera of Hello People Parts 1&2, to the instrumental Suzanne's Mediation, the album covers many themes... love, loss, sex, madness and hope in the 21st century.
The recording is clean, and allows each track to live up to its full potential. The album seems to transform musically from track to track, ranging from the masterfully crafted piano rock sound of Ben Folds, to an acoustic Bowie, to a bluesy number reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughn, and finally to Floyd-esque space rock.
Unprecedented support has seen his MySpace page receive over a million hits, and cemented his spot in the top 5 'garage' artist charts on MySpace. The fame game doesn't stop there with the Mrs Vain and Mixed Up World video clips featured on the Australian Channel Nine music show The Music Jungle.
Combining facets of rock, orchestral, punk, hip-hop and pshyceadelia, Ross Royce is one of the most exciting artists to come out of New Zealand! Do yourself a favor and check out Life Worth Living by New Zealand rocker Ross Royce.
