New Wave and Electro artists are developing a global reputation for excelling in album production. The three guys from Sydney who are Grafton Primary are no exception, with their debut album Eon, totalling nearly 53 minutes of diverse music across 13 tracks.
Goodbye guitar, hello turntables and keyboards, after eons of Indie, folk and acoustic rock, Grafton Primary’s Eon is one of the best examples of why we have welcomed the electricity back to our dance floors.
She Knows It. And so should everyone. The first single of the album is bound to get you dancing up a whitewash of electricity on this ocean of new wave and electro wonder. Your dance moves may have passionate thrust behind them when you connect lyrically to this song about knowing what you need. “The smell of life, from the passing trees, this is what she needs, and she knows it.”
Records for the Righteous is the perfect opener for Eon, it will ensure you keep listening to the rest of the tracks. Even if you don’t, I’m sure that the song will get in your head. In a good way though, where you smile as the beat dances on your memory, and perhaps you’ll even be moved to do a little spontaneous feet movement with excited recollection.
Bust out your quality speakers and your best moves for the relatively short number. Musically bouncing from one speaker to another, and filling all the space in the middle with chubby sounds, this little track is all composed together with words to encourage thoughts about ‘the moment’. And recognizing that this is All There Is.
The rest of the album is a perfect ode to a night spent on the dance floor. We Are The Music is slower and almost melodic so get the party started. Throw in some extra dashs of Colour and the party is warming up. Got a dance partner? Well, Hold Her and dance all night. Sos Hello, you are in the trance part of the evening, probably a few drinks in, dancing till your feet hurt, but the music is so good you don’t want to sit down. Get your second wind and join the All Stars. Then chill out at the end of the night in The Garden with a little gentle electro, still buzzing through your mind and ears.
